Calpurnia is living two lives

Calpurnia is living two lives, her first life she’s living in is with the Finch’s family since she’s the black maid that keeps the children and house in order. Calupurina receives better experiences and conditions than other African Americans, due to Atticus’s beliefs. So, in the finch’s house, Calpurnia is treated with respect and equality, and isn’t t judged by the color of her skin. In her second life, which is being part of the black community, Calpurnia is the ordinary black maid who takes care of a white family and pretends that she can’t read and talks slang like the rest of the black community.
